Inside The New Operator Bag – DJ Cutnice

In light of our limited collection in collaboration with Operator, we've approached DJs representing different aspects of Rotterdam nightlife and talked to them about what brings colour to their lives. For this edition, we spoke to Miraldo Walden, also known as DJ Cutnice. He has been playing hip hop since 1985 as a resident at many b-boy jams and at parties alike. His motto is 'Hip hop is still funky fresh'. Listen to his lifestreams at Twitch, or find him at Smells Good in the Hood. Miraldo also has an extensive sneaker collection, which you can check out on his Instagram

Describe yourself in three words.
Young, Gifted & Black

Where are you now?
In my studio, finishing scratches for a song for a Rotterdam rap group.

What's always in your bag when you go to a gig?
Besides my DJ stuff, lotion creme for my hands & deodorant.

What ecological measures would you take if you ruled the world?
Give power & political leadership to women; men had their time for too long, which got us nowhere. Look in what state the world is right now...

How do you brighten up your existence?
I pray every morning & tell myself in the mirror, let's go young god.

Describe your perfect night out.
I really don't mind, as long I have my ginger beer, it's all good.

What is your biggest loss?
Recently lost a bag with dope pins from Biggie, Prince and more.

What is your guilty pleasure?
Peanut chips with a glass of Fernandes.

Which music have you been listening to recently?
Children of Zeus. I saw them last weekend at Birdfest, it was a great show & they make dope albums.

What is your ultimate destination?
On an island with my wife, children & grandchildren, cooking a big pot of food on a campfire on the beach.
