SUSAN BIJL is proud to participate in the Dutch pavilion shop at the Expo 2025 Osaka Kansai Japan, held from 13 April till 13 October 2025. Expo 2025 Osaka Kansai will be a platform for international exchange in art, culture and heritage. We will represent the Netherlands alongside other Dutch icons, such as Nijntje (Miffy) and Delfs Blauw.
The relationship between SUSAN BIJL and Japan started in 2004 when our shopping bags were introduced to the Japanese market for the first time. We were awarded the Deshima Award in 2006, an award presented to companies that have demonstrated successful business development in Japan and have added value to society. In 2007, we also received the prestigious Good Design Award.
Today, Japan remains one of our most popular reselling countries. SUSAN BIJL has maintained a strong presence in selected stores across the country and collaborated with Japanese partners, such as Maruhiro at Hiroppa Park, AL Gallery, Style Department, United Arrows, A-gent Tokyo and Tsutaya Books Daikanyama in Tokyo.
We feel delighted to present our brand in Japan through many returning pop-up events in various locations. The architecture, (street) culture, arts and cuisine continue to inspire our brand and team.
